Healthcare Economist and Consulting Expert
Adam C. Powell, Ph.D., is the President of Payer+Provider Syndicate, a consulting firm specializing in managed care and healthcare delivery. As a healthcare economist, Dr. Powell uses quantitative techniques to address issues related to healthcare technology, quality, and operations. His peer-reviewed research has focused on mHealth and high-cost medical care areas, while his extensive expertise in global health informatics has led to numerous lectures across Asia. In addition to his role at Payer+Provider, he is a Senior Partner at SSB Solutions and serves on editorial boards for Discover Health Systems and Journal of Participatory Medicine. Dr. Powell co-founded the Society for Digital Mental Health, driven by his interest in mental health apps. Dr. Cansu Canca, Director of Responsible AI Practice at the Institute for Experiential AI and a Research Associate Professor at Northeastern University's Department of Philosophy and Religion, specializes in applied ethics with a focus on artificial intelligence. As the founder of AI Ethics Lab, she developed the Puzzle-solving in Ethics (PiE) Model to integrate ethical considerations into AI innovation, which underpins the EAI's Responsible AI framework. Her consultancy work includes collaborations with the United Nations Centre for AI & Robotics and INTERPOL, where she helps create guidelines for responsible AI in law enforcement. Dr. Canca actively participates in various ethics advisory and editorial boards, including the World Economic Forum’s AI Governance Alliance, and is the founding editor of AI & Ethics (Springer Nature).
