Michael Wilkins

Michael Wilkins serves as Executive Director and Professor of Practice at the Centre for Climate Finance and Investment at Imperial College Business School, bringing over 28 years of experience in sustainable finance and credit analysis. His distinguished career includes serving as Managing Director and Global Head of Sustainable Finance at S&P Global Ratings, where he led global sustainable finance research activities and headed the Infrastructure Finance Ratings group covering utilities, project finance, PPPs, and transportation in EMEA. His expertise spans corporate and infrastructure credit analysis, sustainable finance, carbon markets, and structured finance. His academic credentials include an MBA from Cass Business School (now Bayes), a BA in Modern Languages from Bristol University, and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Carbon Finance & Analytics from London Business School. As a member of the Taskforce for Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) from 2016-2021, he has significantly influenced global climate-related financial reporting standards. He currently contributes to various influential bodies, including the UK Centre for the Greening of Finance & Investment (CGFI) and the Coalition for Climate Resilient Investment (CCRI).
