Professor Bocko, who earned his PhD in Physics from the University of Rochester in 1984, has extensive research and teaching experience in fields such as sensors, quantum electronics, superconducting devices, and digital audio. He serves as Director of the Center for Emerging Innovative Systems (CEIS), fostering university-industry collaborations. With a passion for teaching, particularly in digital signal processing and engineering design, he has won three teaching awards at Rochester. Bocko has also served as Chair of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department twice, from 2004-2010 and since 2012.
