After receiving his undergraduate degree from Princeton University and MD from Harvard Medical School, he completed his training in internal medicine and cardiology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital. His distinguished career includes 28 years at The New England Journal of Medicine, where he served as Executive Editor, followed by his role as Editor-in-Chief of Harvard Health Publications.
