The International Monetary FundEmran Islam is a Senior Financial Sector Expert at the International Monetary Fund, joining in 2020 within the Financial Regulation and Supervision Division. His distinguished career includes serving as a Senior Oversight Expert at the European Central Bank, where he led the development of the EU's cyber resilience strategy and pioneered several key initiatives including TIBER-EU, the Cyber Resilience Oversight Expectations, and the Euro Cyber Resilience Board. He played a crucial role in developing the market-wide cyber exercise UNITAS and the Cyber Incident and Information Sharing Initiative. Islam's expertise is demonstrated through his involvement in numerous international cyber groups, including the G7 Cyber Expert Group and various working groups with CPMI-IOSCO, FSB, and ESRB. Before his ECB tenure, he spent five years at the Bank of England as an FMI supervisor, where he led cyber work for UK FMIs and developed CBEST.
