Kristin Sainani (née Cobb) is an associate professor at Stanford University and a health and science writer. She holds an MS in statistics and a PhD in epidemiology from Stanford, along with additional training in science writing from the University of California, Santa Cruz. With over a decade of experience teaching statistics and writing at Stanford, Dr. Sainani has received multiple Excellence in Teaching Awards from the graduate program in epidemiology. She writes extensively about science and health for diverse audiences, having authored the "Body News" health column for Allure magazine for ten years. Currently, she serves as the statistical editor for Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and contributes a statistics column titled "Statistically Speaking" to the journal.
