Dr. Amanda G. McKendree serves as Associate Teaching Professor of Management and holds the Arthur F. and Mary J. O'Neil Directorship at the Eugene D. Fanning Center for Business Communication at the University of Notre Dame's Mendoza College of Business. Her academic journey includes a BA in Global Policy Studies from Chatham University, an MPA from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Ph.D. in Rhetoric from Duquesne University. Her research focuses on crisis communication, conflict management, and organizational rhetoric, with her work appearing in prestigious publications including the SAGE Encyclopedia of Identity and Business Communication Quarterly. She co-authored "Conflict Between Persons: The Origins of Leadership" and teaches courses in business communication, strategic communication, and crisis management. Her leadership in academic organizations includes serving as President of the Eastern Communication Association and Past President of the Pennsylvania Communication Association. Her excellence has been recognized through multiple awards, including the 2018 Carroll Arnold Distinguished Service Award and the 2021 Cornerstone Award for Business. Beyond academia, she founded Strikeout PSP, an initiative raising awareness and research funds for Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. Through her Coursera course "Ethics of Communication," she shares her expertise in business communication and ethical leadership with a global audience.
