About Me

Meredith Glaser is a distinguished researcher and educator specializing in sustainable transport policy and urban cycling systems. As CEO of the Urban Cycling Institute and Professor of Cycling at Ghent University, she brings an interdisciplinary perspective combining public health and urban planning expertise. Her research focuses on policy innovation, knowledge transfer, and capacity building for implementing sustainable transport goals. She has contributed significantly to European projects like CYCLEWALK and HANDSHAKE, while co-directing the summer program "Planning the Cycling City." With a PhD from the University of Amsterdam and master's degrees from UC Berkeley in city planning and public health, she regularly provides keynote speeches at international conferences and has been featured in prominent media outlets including The Guardian and Bloomberg.
