André Brandao

Andre Brandao is a seasoned tax administration professional who has been serving as a short-term expert in the Fiscal Affairs Department of the International Monetary Fund since 2015. With a career spanning over 15 years as a tax auditor at the Brazilian Tax Administration (RFB), Brandao has held various positions at the national headquarters in Brasilia, bringing extensive experience to his role at the IMF. His expertise encompasses technical assistance in tax and customs administrations, with a focus on governance arrangements, reform design and implementation, tax operations, risk management, and project/process management. Brandao's academic background combines a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Bahia with an MBA from Universidade Catolica do Salvador, both in Brazil. This unique blend of technical and management education underpins his approach to tax administration reforms and capacity building in IMF member countries
