Kimberley R. Barker, MLIS, is the Digital Initiatives Librarian at the Claude Moore Health Sciences Library at the University of Virginia. She earned her Master’s in Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina in 1999 and has since developed innovative outreach programs across various libraries. Barker specializes in emerging and mobile technologies, reputation management, and digital identity, focusing on their impacts on work and life. She actively educates through classes, consultations, social media, podcasts, and publications. In addition to her roles with the Medical Library Association and the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, Barker is also a beekeeper and is currently working on a musical based on The Hobbit with her family.
