His work has garnered over 6,000 citations, demonstrating his substantial impact on control theory and applications. As Editor-in-Chief of RIAI and associate editor of Control Engineering Practice, he continues to shape the field. His expertise has been recognized through Honorary Professorships at Northeastern University (China) and Doctor Honoris Causa degrees from both the University of Oulu (Finland) and Polytechnic of Bucharest (Romania)
