Championing Creativity in Education at SUNY Buffalo State
Dr. Cyndi Burnett is an Associate Professor at the International Center for Studies in Creativity at SUNY Buffalo State, where she leads initiatives aimed at "igniting creativity around the world." Her projects focus on integrating creative thinking into both classroom and home settings. As the co-author of two influential books, Weaving Creativity into Every Strand of Your Curriculum and My Sandwich is a Spaceship: Creative Thinking for Parents and Young Children, she promotes innovative approaches to education. Before her academic career, Dr. Burnett was a professional actress, and her experiences on stage sparked a deep interest in the creative processes behind artistic creation. This passion led her to study creativity at the ICSC and ultimately earn her EdD in Curriculum, Teaching, and Learning from the University of Toronto. Recently, she was featured in a New York Times article titled Creativity Becomes an Academic Discipline.
Leading Expert in Organizational Creativity and Global Leadership Training
Dr. John is an Associate Professor at the State University of New York College at Buffalo's International Center for Studies in Creativity and a Fulbright Scholar at the Universidad de Bucaramanga, Colombia. He has designed and delivered leadership and creativity programs in 22 countries for major organizations, including IBM, Mattel Toys, Quaker Oats, Pfizer, the British Home Office, the National Science Foundation, NASA, and The Ohio State University. His expertise encompasses organizational creativity, the development of online 3D creativity courses, and Appreciative Inquiry, where he investigates effective practices. Dr. John has published numerous articles in Latin American business journals. Previously, he served as an operations manager for American Airlines in Buffalo and held various internal consulting roles in training and development, employee relations, and organizational development within the company's Miami, Caribbean, and Latin America division. He earned his Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology from the University of Manchester, England, and was honored with the Buffalo State College President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching for his exceptional work as an instructor.
