Francien Berry is an Economist in the IMF's Statistics Department since 2017, specializing in real sector statistics and GDP compilation methodologies. Her research has significantly contributed to understanding GDP compilation practices across economies, co-authoring influential studies on the status of GDP compilation practices in 189 economies. Prior to joining the IMF, she worked at the Bank of Jamaica's Research Department, where she developed expertise in sectoral accounts, external sector statistics, and conducted research on credit, monetary policy, and financial markets. As a Jamaican national with an MSc in Economics from the University of the West Indies, Berry brings valuable regional perspective to her work.
