Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification Project

This module introduces Six Sigma as a comprehensive company-wide improvement program. Students will learn about the structured approach that connects reality, methods, and statistics, establishing a foundation for understanding how Six Sigma methodologies can be applied to solve business problems and improve processes.

This module focuses on the initial phase of the DMAIC methodology, where students learn to identify and define a suitable Six Sigma project. Content includes structuring the project field using SIPOC, translating Voice of Customer (VoC) and Voice of Business (VoB) into Critical to Quality (CtQ) factors, identifying key problems, and creating a comprehensive Project Charter with a stakeholder communication plan.

This module covers the Measure phase of DMAIC, teaching students how to conduct input analysis, process mapping, and process analysis to identify the triggering influences (x) of problems (Y). Students will learn to determine relationships between influences and problems using Cause and Effect Matrix, derive hypotheses, operationalize measurands for influences and problems in a data collection plan, and collect corresponding data samples.

This module focuses on the Analyze phase, where students learn to evaluate and graphically display collected data, represent process performance using control charts and process capability indices, test hypotheses on differences between problems (Y1-Yn), analyze relationships between influences (x) and problems (Y), and perform root cause analysis using fault tree methodology.

This module covers the Improve phase of DMAIC, teaching students how to develop and select solutions to eliminate, adjust, or circumvent root causes (x'). Students will learn to specify solutions as measures, detect their risks using Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), develop countermeasures, and implement improvements to address the identified issues.

This module focuses on the Control phase of DMAIC, where students learn to evaluate and display data graphically, represent process performance using control charts and process capability indices, test hypotheses on differences between before and after states, derive financial and non-financial benefits of improvements, and develop a Process Management Plan to control and maintain the improved process.

This final module guides students through the project conclusion process, teaching them how to prepare lessons learned, complete the Project-Story-Book documentation, and submit their project for review by a Master Black Belt for certification. This module ensures students can effectively communicate their project results and learnings for formal certification recognition.
