Dr. Alexandra (Ali) Seidenstein is a multifaceted professional with a background in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, having held a faculty position at NYU Tandon where she taught courses in Genetics, Molecular Biology, and Cell Biology for the Biomolecular Science Program. She also managed the NYU-Tandon ‘Urban Food Lab,’ a vertical farm utilizing aquaponics technology to produce fresh produce. Her PhD research in Neural and Behavioral Science led her to the BlueStone Clinic at NYU Dental School, where she investigates gene expression changes and epigenetics related to trauma and PTSD under the guidance of Dr. Bradley Aouizerat. In addition to her scientific pursuits, Ali is a certified yoga instructor, having studied for three years in Mysore, India, under the late Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. As the founder and president of Kids Who Care, Inc., she works with at-risk youth and teaches yoga to trauma survivors in various NYC centers. Dr. Seidenstein is actively involved in research on the science of yoga and its long-term therapeutic effects, blending her expertise in science with her passion for wellness.
