Leader in Medical Education and Coaching Innovation
Dr. Arti Maini serves as the Coaching Lead for the Medical Education Innovation and Research Centre (MEdIC) and Deputy Director for Undergraduate Primary Care Education at Imperial College London. A practicing GP and educator in London, she holds a master's in medical education, along with degrees in medicine and clinical neuroscience. Dr. Maini is an experienced, accredited coach, coach trainer, and supervisor, as well as a Master Practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). She conducts training courses for medical students and clinicians and serves as a coach for NHS professionals through the NHS London Leadership Academy. Additionally, she is on the faculty of the Coaching Supervision Academy and is an active member of the Imperial Coaching Academy. Her education and research interests include coaching for health, education, well-being, leadership, person-centered care, and capacity building. Dr. Maini integrates coaching approaches into her clinical practice and is co-author of the acclaimed book Coaching for Health: Why It Works and How to Do It. In recognition of her contributions to teaching, she was awarded the Imperial President’s Medal in 2019 for her efforts in fostering a coaching culture at Imperial. The award-winning Undergraduate Primary Care Education team she co-leads received the national AdvanceHE CATE Excellence in Education award in 2018 and the Imperial President’s Award for Societal Engagement in 2019.
