Institut Mines-TelecomVéronique Riffault serves as a Full Professor and Deputy Head for Environmental Research at the Centre for Education, Research and Innovation on Energy and Environment (CERI EE) at IMT Nord Europe. Her academic journey includes a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Orleans in 2002, focusing on reactions of halogenated radicals, followed by a research associate position at NOAA's Earth System Research Laboratory in Boulder. Since joining IMT Nord Europe in 2006, she has risen from Assistant Professor to Full Professor in Atmospheric Chemistry. Her research expertise centers on characterizing fine particle composition and formation processes through laboratory and field experiments, with particular emphasis on aerosol observations at the ATOLL site in Lille since 2016. As a highly cited researcher with 83 peer-reviewed articles and an h-index of 22, she has made significant contributions to understanding urban and industrial air pollution. Currently, she leads several major initiatives, including co-chairing the ACTRIS National Facility Technical and Scientific Forum and coordinating the Air Quality MOOC series. Her work extends to supervising 16 PhD students, 10 postdocs, and numerous graduate students, while also serving as the Deputy Director of the Doctoral School "Sciences of Matter, Radiation and Environment"
