Distinguished Global Health Expert and Public Policy Researcher
Valéry Ridde serves as Director of Research at CEPED and the Institute of Health and Development at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar, Senegal, following his role as Associate Professor at the University of Montreal's School of Public Health. His research focuses on health service financing, program evaluation, and public health policies from an equity and global health perspective. With a PhD in Community Health from Laval University and extensive field experience in West Africa, he has published over 200 scientific articles and several influential books on health equity. His work as Research Chair in Applied Public Health and leadership of the global health cluster at the University of Montreal's Institute of Public Health Research has significantly influenced health policy implementation in developing countries. As Associate Editor of BMJ Global Health and Global Health Promotion, he continues to shape global health discourse while maintaining an active teaching presence across multiple countries including Burkina Faso, Haiti, Germany, and Senegal.
