Trilochan Sastry

Trilochan Sastry serves as Professor in the Decision Sciences Area at IIM Bangalore, where he previously served as Dean (2008-2011), bringing together academic excellence and social entrepreneurship through multiple groundbreaking initiatives. After earning his BTech from IIT Delhi, MBA from IIM Ahmedabad, and PhD in Operations Research from MIT, he has established himself as a transformative figure in both academia and social reform through founding the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) in 1999, which revolutionized electoral transparency in India, and the Centre for Collective Development (CCD) in 2003, which has empowered over 25,000 farmers through cooperative structures. His work spans teaching at prestigious institutions including IIM Ahmedabad, International University of Japan, and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, while his social initiatives include founding Farmveda to create sustainable farmer-owned food brands. His contributions have earned him numerous accolades including the Satyendra K Dubey Memorial Award from IIT Kanpur (2011-12), Distinguished Alumnus Award from IIT Delhi (2012), and Times of India Social Impact Award (2012), recognizing his unique ability to combine academic rigor with practical social transformation
