Timothy Scherr

Timothy Scherr is a Senior Instructor and Professor of Engineering Practice at the University of Colorado Boulder, specializing in embedded systems and digital signal processing. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Washington University in St. Louis and his Master of Science from the University of Utah, both in Electrical Engineering. With over 30 years of experience, Tim has designed a wide range of systems including military communications, VoIP systems, and scientific instrumentation. His extensive background includes leadership roles such as engineering manager and director, as well as founding a startup company focused on technology development.At CU Boulder, Professor Scherr teaches courses related to FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array) design, including "Introduction to FPGA Design for Embedded Systems" and "FPGA Capstone: Building FPGA Projects." His courses emphasize practical applications of engineering principles, equipping students with the skills needed to excel in the rapidly evolving field of embedded systems.
