After earning her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, she completed postdoctoral work studying opioid receptor mechanisms at both UNM and the University of Washington. As Application Scientist at the Allen Institute for Brain Science (2010-2017), she delivered over 200 global workshops and training sessions on the Allen Brain Atlas database. She later served as Engagement Director for Brain Commons at Cohen Veterans Bioscience (2017-2020) and Director of Education & Discovery at Exaptive (2020-2022), where she developed digital platforms for brain health research. Her expertise spans scientific writing, knowledge brokering, and training development, with particular focus on neuroscience and complex data visualization. She founded the Seattle Science Café's Science on Tap program and served as a Science Communication Fellow at the Pacific Science Center from 2013 to 2016
