Takeo Igarashi is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at The University of Tokyo. He received his Ph.D. from the Department of Information Engineering at The University of Tokyo in 2000 and subsequently worked as a postdoctoral research associate at Brown University from 2000 to 2002. Igarashi joined The University of Tokyo as an Assistant Professor in 2002 and became a full Professor in 2011. He directed the JST ERATO Igarashi Design Interface project from 2007 to 2013. His research interests lie in user interfaces and interactive computer graphics, notably developing the sketch-based modeling system "Teddy" and the performance-driven animation authoring system "MovingSketch." Igarashi has received several accolades, including the IBM Science Prize, the JSPS Prize, and the ACM SIGGRAPH 2006 Significant New Researcher Award. He has also contributed to various international conferences, serving as a program co-chair for ACM UIST 2013 and participating in committees for conferences such as ACM CHI, UIST, and SIGGRAPH.
