Susanne Kaae is an Associate Professor in Social Pharmacy at the University of Copenhagen and leads the WHO Collaboration Center for Research and Training in the Patient Perspective on Medicines Use. With a background as a trained pharmacist, she worked for six years as a community pharmacist before transitioning to academia in 2006. Her research focuses on regulatory science, patient perspectives on medications—particularly antibiotics—and pharmacy practice, including the implementation of cognitive services and improving communication between patients and healthcare professionals. Dr. Kaae has published numerous articles in her field and is currently the principal investigator of a European project aimed at enhancing patient-centered communication among pharmacy staff. She teaches courses such as "Patient Perspectives on Medications: Qualitative Interviews," contributing to the education of future pharmacy professionals on the importance of understanding patient experiences in medication use.
