Stanley M. Hauerwas is a prominent American theologian and ethicist, recognized for his extensive contributions to theological ethics, political theory, and the philosophy of social science. He served as the Gilbert T. Rowe Professor Emeritus of Theological Ethics at Duke University, where he taught for nearly three decades before retiring in 2013.
