University of CambridgeStacey Bedwell currently serves as Teaching Fellow in Psychology at King's College London while maintaining a role as tutor in cognitive neuroscience at the University of Cambridge. Her research focuses on the neuropsychology of decision-making and prefrontal cortex connectivity, building on her PhD work from Nottingham Trent University on mammalian prefrontal cortex networks. Her significant contributions include groundbreaking research on prefrontal-temporal cortex connections and the impact of childhood experiences on executive functions. Beyond her academic work, she has authored "How Does My Brain Work?", a children's book making neuroscience accessible to young readers. A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and member of the British Neuroscience Association, she employs student-centered teaching approaches across various formats, from traditional lectures to online delivery. Her current research spans multiple areas, including EEG mapping of decision-making processes, childhood trauma's effects on psychopathy, and the neurophysiology of ASMR. Selected through the competitive Royal Society Pairing Scheme for Westminster in 2020, she continues to advocate for women in STEM while maintaining active research collaborations across institutions.
