The Hong Kong University of Science and TechnologyShenghui Song is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Integrative Systems & Design and Department of Electronic & Computer Engineering at HKUST, where he has served since 2009. His research spans wireless communications, machine learning with focus on distributed intelligence, integrated sensing and communication, and engineering education. Song's excellence in teaching has been widely recognized through multiple prestigious awards, including the Michael G. Gale Medal for Distinguished Teaching (2018), Best Ten Lecturers (2017), the School of Engineering Distinguished Teaching Award (2012), and the Teachers I Like Award. He received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from City University of Hong Kong and has since made significant contributions to both research and education, particularly in areas such as federated learning, wireless communications, and innovative teaching methods. His work has been extensively published in leading journals, and he actively contributes to the academic community through his role as an educator and researcher, bridging the gap between theoretical concepts and practical applications in engineering education.
