Arizona State UniversityRoy C. Nelson serves as Senior Associate Dean of Thunderbird Undergraduate Programs and Associate Professor at Thunderbird School of Global Management. His academic credentials include a B.A. with honors from Stanford University, M.A. from Yale University, and Ph.D. from Cornell University. His expertise spans global political economy, international business-government relations, and foreign direct investment, with particular focus on Latin America. His scholarly work includes two significant books: "Harnessing Globalization: The Promotion of Nontraditional Foreign Direct Investment in Latin America" and "Industrialization and Political Affinity: Industrial Policy in Brazil." His industry experience includes roles at Pharmacia & Upjohn Corporation in São Paulo and consulting work for the World Bank and Chilean Economic Development Agency (CORFO). A multiple recipient of Thunderbird's Outstanding Professor award, he leads executive education programs for major corporations including Johnson & Johnson, Honeywell International, and Hewlett-Packard. Fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, he regularly conducts field seminars in Brazil, Chile, Peru, Colombia, and Argentina for Thunderbird's Executive Degree programs
