The Linux FoundationRiko Eksteen serves as Head of Desktop Strategy at Adaptive Financial Consulting, where he combines 20 years of technology and financial services expertise with leadership in open-source standards development. After completing his education at Stellenbosch University and the University of Cape Town, he has established himself as a key figure in financial desktop interoperability through his work with the Financial Desktop Connectivity and Collaboration Consortium (FDC3). As co-chair and lead maintainer of the FDC3 project at FINOS, he played instrumental roles in the development of versions 1.0, 1.1, and 2.0 of the standard, focusing on enabling seamless workflows between financial applications. His contributions include developing the first FDC3 training course for Linux Foundation, co-authoring technical specifications, and championing interoperability solutions that have been implemented at major financial institutions. Through his leadership at Adaptive and involvement with FINOS as a silver member organization, he continues to advance desktop integration strategies while promoting open standards across the financial industry.
