Delft University of TechnologyRemon Rooij serves as an Associate Professor at TU Delft's Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, where he combines expertise in spatial planning with educational leadership. After earning his doctorate on "The Mobile City" in 2005 from the TRAIL Research School for Transport, Infrastructure and Logistics, and his MSc in urban design, planning, and real estate management, he has established himself as a leading figure in both academic development and urban planning. As TU Delft's co-leader of the 4TU Centre for Engineering Education and educational leader of the Department of Urbanism, he focuses on curriculum development and educational innovation. His research interests span multiple areas including strategic spatial planning, mobility infrastructure's role in urban vitality, sports facilities in urban development, and socio-spatial strategies for urban regeneration. He has extensive experience in coordinating courses at BSc, MSc, and post-MSc levels, while also leading significant educational initiatives such as the faculty-wide "Research on Education Innovation" project focusing on design education and interdisciplinary learning approaches
