Dr. Rebecca Vieyra serves as the Director of Global Initiatives at the University of Colorado Boulder, where she supports the international strategy and programming for PhET Interactive Simulations. With a background as a high school physics teacher, she earned her Ph.D. in science education from the University of Maryland. Dr. Vieyra previously managed the Inter-American Teacher Education Network for the Organization of American States and was the K-12 Program Manager for the American Association of Physics Teachers. She has been recognized with the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching and is an alumna of the Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellowship. Dr. Vieyra resides in Washington, DC, with her husband and daughter, and is passionate about creating inclusive learning experiences that enhance access to quality STEM education globally.
