Professor Payal Mehra

Professor in the Communication area at IIM Lucknow, Prof. Payal Mehra brings over 30 years of rich experience in corporate, teaching, research, and training. An award-winning researcher, she has recently received the Best Paper in Proceedings Award’ at the prestigious 85th Academy of Management Conference (July 2025), held in Copenhagen, Denmark, for a co-authored paper. She is the author of multiple widely used textbooks in business communication and has over 60 research publications including peer-reviewed journals, conference papers, book chapters, and cases. Her areas of expertise cover health communication, persuasive business storytelling, cross-cultural communication, organisational effectiveness, and written executive communication.
