David Pannell serves as Professor of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of Western Australia's School of Agriculture and Environment, where he also directs the Centre for Environmental Economics and Policy. His research spans agricultural economics, environmental policy, and natural resource management, with particular focus on farming systems, land and water conservation, and farmer adoption of innovative practices. A recipient of numerous international awards, including the 2009 Eureka Prize for Interdisciplinary Research, he has published seven books and over 200 journal articles. His contributions to the field earned him recognition as a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia and Distinguished Fellow of the Australian Agricultural and Resource Economics Society. As an ARC Federation Fellow (2007-2012), he has significantly influenced environmental and agricultural policy through his research on sustainable resource management and economic decision-making in agriculture.
