Peter Frumkin is a Professor of Social Policy and the Director of the Master’s in Nonprofit Leadership Program at the University of Pennsylvania, where he also serves as the Faculty Director of the Center for High Impact Philanthropy. His research and teaching focus on nonprofit strategy, philanthropy, and social entrepreneurship. Frumkin is the author of several influential books, including On Being Nonprofit and Strategic Giving: The Art and Science of Philanthropy, and has co-authored works such as Serving Country and Community. His upcoming book, Building for the Arts: The Strategic Design of Cultural Facilities, will address challenges faced by cultural institutions during capital projects. Before joining Penn, he was a Professor at the University of Texas at Austin and has taught at Harvard University. Frumkin holds a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Chicago and teaches courses like Arts and Culture Strategy and Social Impact Strategy: Tools for Entrepreneurs and Innovators.
