Peter Boyd is a Lecturer at the Yale School of the Environment and a Resident Fellow at the Yale Center for Business and the Environment. He is also the Founder and CEO of Time4Good, an organization dedicated to helping leaders and teams across various sectors create purpose-driven strategies for maximizing positive impact. With a strong commitment to achieving a 'Net-Zero' world, Boyd engages in teaching, writing, and coaching to facilitate system change. His extensive experience spans over twenty years in leadership, strategy, and team alignment, beginning with McKinsey & Co. and later holding multiple roles at the Virgin Group, including CEO of Virgin Mobile South Africa. In the non-profit sector, he was the Launch Director and COO of Sir Richard Branson’s Carbon War Room and chaired the Energy Efficiency Deployment Office for the UK Department of Energy & Climate Change. Boyd has also led The B Team’s ‘Net-Zero by 2050’ initiative and serves on the UNFCCC’s Race-To-Zero Expert Review Group. Originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, he graduated from the University of Oxford with a degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. Now residing in Westport, Connecticut, he is actively involved in local sustainability efforts and enjoys family life with his wife and three young children. An accomplished athlete, Boyd has completed 20 marathons, including ultra-marathons like Marathon Des Sables and The Comrades. As a CBEY Fellow, he offers office hours for coaching on leadership and career development to members of the Yale community.
