Waseda UniversityNozomu Togawa serves as Professor and Senior Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Waseda University, where he has established himself as a leading authority in integrated circuit design and hardware security. After completing his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Waseda University in 1997, he progressed through academic positions at the University of Kitakyushu and Waseda University before assuming his current professorship in 2009. His research spans multiple areas including system-on-chip (SoC) design, hardware security, quantum computing applications, and IoT systems. As head of the Togawa Laboratory, he leads groundbreaking research in next-generation system design, focusing on low-power computing, secure systems, and reconfigurable architectures. His work has garnered significant recognition, with over 1,500 citations for his publications on hardware Trojan detection, scan-based security attacks, and Ising machine applications. Currently, he leads the "Togawa IoT Integrated System Project" addressing design and security challenges in networked systems, while also promoting international collaboration and industry-academia partnerships through his role as Senior Dean. His laboratory has achieved notable successes, including award-winning work on LDPC decoder chip design and pioneering contributions to quantum computing applications in circuit design.
