Dr. Nerissa C. Brown is the Associate Dean of Graduate Programs and a Professor of Accountancy at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where she also serves as the Chief Learning Innovation Officer and holds the PwC Faculty Fellowship as well as the Josef and Margot Lakonishok Faculty Fellowship. With a Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Maryland, Dr. Brown's research focuses on corporate financial reporting, strategic disclosure practices, and the behavioral biases affecting capital markets. She has published extensively in leading academic journals and has received numerous accolades for her contributions to education, including the Lester H. McKeever Outstanding Leader in Advancing Diversity Award from the Illinois CPA Society. In her role as Associate Dean, she is dedicated to enhancing graduate education and fostering innovative learning experiences. Dr. Brown is also actively involved in various editorial boards and committees within the accounting profession, further demonstrating her commitment to advancing the field of accountancy through research, teaching, and leadership.
