Nerissa C. Brown, PhD, CFE

Nerissa C. Brown, PhD, CFE, is the Associate Dean of Graduate Programs and a Professor of Accountancy at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She also serves as the Chief Learning Innovation Officer and holds the Josef and Margot Lakonishok Faculty Fellowship and PwC Faculty Fellowship. Dr. Brown has a strong academic background with a PhD in Accounting from the University of Maryland and over 20 years of experience in teaching and research. Her research interests include corporate financial reporting, non-GAAP metrics, and the behavioral aspects of financial disclosure. She teaches courses such as "Beyond the Financials: Insights, Analysis and Valuations" and "Financial Statement and Ratio Analysis for Accountants." Dr. Brown is recognized for her contributions to accounting education and has received multiple awards for her teaching excellence.
