Dr. Mike Barger is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Business Administration and the Executive Director of the Office of Strategy and Academic Innovation at the University of Michigan's Stephen M. Ross School of Business. He teaches courses on crisis leadership and entrepreneurship, drawing on his extensive experience as a former officer in the United States Navy, where he served as a pilot and flight instructor for thirteen years, including a role at the Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN). After leaving the Navy, Barger co-founded JetBlue Airways, where he established JetBlue University, an award-winning corporate training program. He later served as COO of CorpU, an education technology company. Dr. Barger holds a Master's Degree in Learning Leadership and a Doctorate in Education. His course High Stakes Leadership: Leading in Times of Crisis prepares students to navigate complex leadership challenges during crises, utilizing insights from his diverse career in military and corporate settings.
