Mija-Tesse Ververs, MD, MPH, is a Senior Associate at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and faculty member at the Hopkins Center for Humanitarian Health. She also serves as a Health Scientist/Senior Nutritionist at the Emergency Response and Recovery Branch of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). With over 30 years of experience, Mija has worked in numerous countries with more than 15 organizations, including international NGOs, IFRC, the UN, government agencies, and academic institutions. Her expertise encompasses nutrition, public health, food security, and livelihoods programming in conflict- and disaster-affected settings. A graduate of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, she previously worked with the International Committee of the Red Cross in Geneva.
