The Linux FoundationMatthias Koenig is a Professor of Embedded Software Engineering at the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences, where he has been teaching embedded systems development, hardware-close programming, and software engineering for over a decade. His expertise spans service robotics, smart devices, and Internet of Things technologies. After several positions in industry as a software developer and patent engineer between 2001 and 2012, he joined the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences. Currently, he also serves as a senior software engineer at e1d1, Germany, bringing over 30 years of software development experience to his roles. Koenig has made significant contributions to computer vision and pattern recognition, as evidenced by his research on pollen grain image classification methodologies. His commitment to education is demonstrated through his development of the Linux Foundation's "Foundations of RISC-V Assembly Programming" course, which helps students gain hardware-specific programming knowledge.
