Marlisse Silver Sweeney

Marlisse Silver Sweeney serves as a Lecturer in the Law, Communications, and General Business Group at UBC Sauder School of Business, where she has made significant contributions to business communications education. After completing her BFA and JD at the University of British Columbia and MS in Journalism from Columbia University, she has built a multifaceted career combining legal expertise with journalism and education. Her teaching excellence was recently recognized with the prestigious UBC Killam Teaching Award for her outstanding contributions to undergraduate education. She has developed or co-developed three foundational business communications courses at UBC Sauder, bringing her unique experience as a lawyer, journalist, and professional communicator to create real-world learning experiences.
