Award-Winning Optometry Educator and Vision Rehabilitation Specialist

The Hong Kong Polytechnic UniversityDr. Lydia Yu serves as a Clinical Associate at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University's School of Optometry, where she first graduated with first-class honors and Dean's List recognition. After completing her PhD in regenerative medicine at The University of Hong Kong's Department of Ophthalmology and conducting research at the University of Liverpool's Department of Eye and Vision Sciences, she returned to PolyU. Her expertise focuses on vision rehabilitation, low vision patient care, visual electrophysiology, and myopia management. Her contributions to teaching and clinical services have earned her the Outstanding Clinic Staff Award and the Faculty Prize for Outstanding Performance/Achievement in Teaching. Currently, she develops innovative eLearning strategies and teaches CAR subjects, including "Eyes on Vision," while contributing to the development of educational resources such as the MOOC "How We See the World: Visual Function and Eye Health" and the SEE 3D Eye Model App
