Independence Foundation Associate Professor and Associate Professor of Nursing at Yale University, where he also serves as the Associate Dean for Global Affairs and Planetary Health. He is a member of the Yale Institute of Global Health’s Leadership Advisory Committee and a scientist at the MAP Centre for Urban Health Solutions in Toronto.He holds the Ontario HIV Treatment Network Research Chair in Implementation Science with Black Communities in Canada and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing. Prof. Nelson has received several honors, including the Excellence in HIV Prevention Award from the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care and the President’s Trailblazer Award from the National Black Nurses Association.
