Dr. Kelli A. Sullivan is a Lecturer in the Division of Anatomical Sciences in the Department of Surgery and an Associate Research Scientist in the Department of Neurology at the University of Michigan. She earned her Ph.D. in Anatomy and Neurobiology from the University of Kentucky in 1990, with a research career focused on diabetic neuropathy (DN). Dr. Sullivan has contributed significantly to the field, authoring or co-authoring 39 research articles and three book chapters on nervous system development and disease models.Since joining the University of Michigan in 2006, Dr. Sullivan has played a pivotal role in teaching anatomical sciences. She is involved in team-based instruction for Medical Gross Anatomy, Neuroanatomy, Undergraduate Gross Anatomy, and Graduate Neuroanatomy. Her current courses include Anatomy: Gastrointestinal, Reproductive, and Endocrine Systems and Anatomy: Human Neuroanatomy.Through her extensive research and dedication to teaching, Dr. Sullivan bridges the gap between clinical relevance and anatomical education, preparing future healthcare professionals with a deep understanding of human anatomy and neurology.
