Dr. Dickersin's primary research interests encompass epidemiology, randomized clinical trials, systematic reviews, meta-analysis, reporting biases, trial registries, peer review, evidence-based health care, and patient-centered outcomes research. Her research has spanned critical areas such as women's health, eye and vision research, and surgical interventions. Dr. Dickersin serves as the Director of the Center for Clinical Trials and Evidence Synthesis at Johns Hopkins University, where faculty, staff, and students engage in methodological research focused on clinical trials and evidence synthesis. Additionally, she holds the role of Director of the US Cochrane Center (USCC), one of 13 global centers participating in The Cochrane Collaboration, an initiative dedicated to preparing and promoting systematic reviews to support well-informed health care decisions. The USCC also supports Consumers United for Evidence-based Healthcare (CUE). Furthermore, Dr. Dickersin is the Director of the Cochrane Eyes and Vision Review Group, US Satellite, focusing on research related to vision health and evidence synthesis.
