June Gruber is a licensed clinical psychologist and Associate Professor at the University of Colorado Boulder, where she directs the Positive Emotion and Psychopathology Laboratory. She earned her Ph.D. and B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, and previously served as an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Yale University. Dr. Gruber has published over 100 articles and chapters, including editing two significant works: the Oxford Handbook of Positive Emotion and Psychopathology and Positive Emotion: Integrating the Light Sides and Dark Sides with Judith Moskowitz. Her teaching focuses on emotion, happiness, and mental illness. She is also a columnist for Science Careers and has received numerous accolades, including the 2020 UROP Outstanding Faculty Mentor Award and early-career honors such as the Association for Psychological Science’s Rising Star Award. Dr. Gruber is actively involved in outreach related to mental health, particularly in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, co-leading initiatives addressing the mental health crisis. She teaches a course titled "#talkmentalillness," aimed at fostering discussions around mental health issues.
