Joshua Sharfstein

Dr. Joshua M. Sharfstein is the Associate Dean for Public Health Practice and Training at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where he also serves as Professor of the Practice in the Department of Health Policy and Management. Dr. Sharfstein has an extensive background in public health leadership, having previously held significant roles such as Health Commissioner in Baltimore, Principal Deputy Commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and Health Secretary in Maryland. His work focuses on improving public health practices and policies, drawing from his vast experience in both state and federal health agencies.
