Jorge Santiago-Aviles

Dr. Jorge Santiago-Aviles, an emeritus Associate Professor in the Electrical and Systems Engineering Department at the University of Pennsylvania, brings decades of expertise in electronic materials, charge storage systems, and renewable energy research. Originally from Puerto Rico, Dr. Santiago-Aviles holds a B.S. in Physics from the University of Puerto Rico and a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Penn State University. His research spans sensors, actuators, photovoltaic systems, and advanced energy storage solutions. Dr. Santiago-Aviles also teaches courses in microfabrication, circuits, batteries, and super-capacitors and leads the Coursera course "Exploring Renewable Energy Schemes," offering learners insights into sustainable energy technologies and innovation.
