John A. Bartlett, MD, is a Professor of Medicine, Global Health, and Nursing at Duke University Medical Center. He is certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a Fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America. Dr. Bartlett serves as the Associate Director for Research at the Duke Global Health Institute, Co-Director of the Duke University Center for AIDS Research, and a Senior Fellow within the Duke University Health Inequalities Program. He also co-chairs the Duke University Africa Initiative. Dr. Bartlett has received numerous teaching awards from Duke medical students and house staff, and he is a past recipient of the Distinguished Faculty Award. His work focuses heavily on capacity building at the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre in Moshi, Tanzania.
