Her academic journey began with a BBA from Georgia College & State University, where she graduated with honors and an academic excellence award in 2010, followed by her PhD from Emory University. Her research expertise focuses on investor decision-making processes, examining various information sources including mandatory and voluntary disclosures, analyst reports, news media, and social media platforms. As co-founder of the AF Tech Lab, she has been instrumental in advancing students' programming skills and FinTech knowledge beyond traditional classroom settings. Her teaching excellence has been recognized with multiple awards, including the School's Award for Outstanding Teaching and the Faculty of Business's Award for Outstanding Achievement in teaching in 2020. Her scholarly work has gained recognition through publications in prestigious journals such as the Journal of Accounting and Economics, while her innovative approach to teaching data analytics in accounting and finance at the master's level has significantly enhanced the practical skills of her students
